30 DOB - Day 19

Gray skies, rain coming
Boiling sap, maple syrup
Ride done as clouds drop

Making maple syrup - Part Two
In my April 14 post I illustrated the first steps in making maple syrup, tapping the trees to get the sap. After collecting the sap, the next step is to boil it down.
Boiling sugar maple sap.
It takes 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup.
Filtering the sap before it's poured in to be boiled.
Skimming the sap.
